Aluminum Pergola

We design and install pergolas in Orange County, CA cities, including Yorba Linda, Anaheim, Mission Viejo, and Lake Forest. For this project the homeowners chose a 4-inch lattice embossed aluminum pergola to grace their backyard patio. The homeowners wanted to create an attractive area where they could set up an outdoor room for eating, reading, or just hanging out together in nature.

While many homeowners prefer aluminum patio covers that are attached to their home on one side, we felt that a freestanding aluminum pergola was a stronger choice for this landscape, which features a large, paved, split-level backyard bisected by a stone retaining wall with a narrow greenway encircling the yard. The finished project is reminiscent of an island oasis, ready to be decked out with furniture and other outdoor decor. The homeowner’s are also able to enjoy the best of both worlds since they have partial shade on one half of their backyard and full sun on the rest.

Finishing The Project: Aluminum Pergolas and Extras

Once we chose the area we wanted to cover and the size of the pergola, we started thinking about the details, always considering how our clients wanted to use the finished pergola. After consulting with the homeowners, we chose to use a light sand colored aluminum for the pergola, which blends beautifully with the variegated patio and stone wall as well as with the striking red stone wall separating their property from the neighbor’s yard. Between the architectural elements and their vibrant green grass, these homeowner’s already had a lot of color and contrast in their backyard, making a soft neutral the best choice.

The homeowners also told us that they love listening to music while they eat, cook, and spend time together, so we included two recessed speakers in the beams. The result: an ambient outdoor retreat perfect for backyard barbecues, evening conversations over wine, or laid-back brunches.
